Choir LogoMay - June 2008 Schedule

Practices will be held in Room 115 (down the hall next to the RezKidz Sanctuary on the 52nd Street entrance side).

Practices will be during the 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM services. Children only attend one practice that day depending on which service you typically attend.

In order to sing, each child must attend both practices prior to the performance date (there is a sign-in sheet at each practice).

On Sundays, when the choir will be singing in the RezKidz Sanctuary, it is required that the children be available for both services. They will stay in Room 115 until after the 2nd service is over. Parents - you will be able to pick-up your child(ren) directly after they sing if you would like to get them before the 2nd service is over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who may join the choir?
A. The choir is open for any child in 3rd - 5th grade.

Q. How can I sign up for the choir?
A. To sign up, please see Shirley Gordon, your classroom teacher or a RezKidz staff member.

Q: Why are you starting a kids choir?
A. Part of our RezKidz vision is ‘to see kids grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ’ and one of the best ways to encourage this is by providing opportunities for the kids to serve others. Above all, this is a way for the kids to minister to God and to one another, and will provide an opportunity for them to gain leadership experience.

Q: Who will be leading the RezKidz Choir?

A: Shirley Gordon is our Praise & Worship Coordinator in RezKidz and she, together with her assistant Krista, will be overseeing this ministry opportunity.

Q: What will the kids learn by being a member of the choir?
A: The kids will learn about worship, what it means to lead others in worship, commitment and teamwork, and service to others. Our goal is to mentor the kids and help them to grow closer to God because they are reaching out to serve others.

Q: Why are you allowing only 3rd - 5th graders to be a part of the choir?

A: Based on past experience, the maturity level of most K - 2nd graders does not lend itself well to the vision we have of mentoring and developing leaders. As stated above, this choir is intended to be a part of our wider vision to provide leadership opportunities for our older kids, as well as serving as an incentive and reward for the younger kids when they graduate to higher grades.

We welcome parents, other family members and friends to visit RezKidz that Sunday to watch the RezKidz Choir in action!
